I saw this cute article and had to share. Currently, compensated surrogacy is illegal in New York, which equates it with baby selling. Now, support is growing to change the laws, primarily because of surrogacy's increasing popularity with gay couples as a way to build a family. It's nice to see surrogacy positively portrayed in the media from time to time.
